We bet somewhere Janine Teagues is rejoicing, because school is almost back in session. ABC announced its premiere schedule for 2024, following the settlement of writers' and actors' strikes.
"Abbott Elementary," the comedy centered on teachers at a Philadelphia public school that won Emmys and a best TV series award at January's Golden Globes, returns in February, with star and creator Quinta Brunson as Ms. Teagues.
Also in February, "American Idol" breaks into song for Season 22. And "9-1-1," the rescue series that debuted in 2018, has been rerouted to ABC after Fox canceled it, citing costs. ABC's scripted series will air 10 to 13 episodes in this strike-shortened season, down from as many as 22 for a typical season that begins in late September.
